Specimen: Head
Shown: Primary infection of contagious echthyma (Orf virus) causing a proliferative dermatitis and cheilitis. Damage to skin barrier leading to secondary bacterial infection primarily characterized by Corynebacterium freneyi, causing suppurative lymphadenitis and cellulitis of the head eventually leading to terminal septicemia.
