General Information:
- Most commonly caused by bacterial or fungal infection
- Most commonly opportunistic infections, e.g. secondary to aspiration or stress
Gross Appearance:
Irregular consolidation in the cranioventral areas, with a firm texture and dark-red or gray-pink colour
Hallmark:
Exudative lesions originating at the bronchiolar-alveolar junction
